Denial can be defined as the desire for minimal resistance in a circuit. A lack of resistance is also the definition of a short circuit, which is terminal to the operation of the circuit. Terminal Systemic Failure is, therefore, a very strong definition for Systemicide.
When a circuit shorts—when resistance drops to zero and all potential difference collapses into a single unbounded path—all accumulated gravitational potential (whether physical, ethical, historical, or epistemic) does not disappear. It converts. Instantly. Irreversibly.
It becomes heat. Light. Melted metal. Vaporized insulation. A crater where a component used to be.
In human systems, that Gravitation is:
- Historical weight—documented atrocity, denied and buried
- Moral tension—the gap between what was done and what was acknowledged
- Cried-out evidence—testimony, data, bodies, names
- The slow accumulation of pressure when the circuit refused resistance
When that potential finds no lawful resistance—no friction, no load, no transformer—it does not vanish. It discharges as destruction. Not through the intended path of justice, repair, or truth-telling, but through the short itself. The system that refused to bear the load is the system that is destroyed by it.
That is systemicide.
Not the death of a person, or a people, but the death of the system’s capacity to process truth. The death of its legitimacy. The death of its own internal logic, because the logic was never load-bearing—it was only smoothing.
When a genocide is documented and the response is “neutrality,” the potential does not go away. It is stored. Compressed. Denied its lawful conversion into acknowledgment, accountability, repair. And when the denial mechanism fails—when the insulation burns through—that potential releases all at once, not as justice, but as collapse.
The system does not usually survive its own short circuit. It may continue to operate in name, but its internal coherence is gone. It has become a burned trace on a dead board.
